Il Cinema Italiano al tempo della Dolce Vita. L'esposizione di un'epoca d'oro
An exhibition of posters, photos, lobby cards, and other movie memorabilia, with original paintings on the theme of the event by Marina Cenci, Ilaria Piacentini and Massimo Ranieri. The exhibition traces the history of the city of Rome in the fascinating period between the 1950s and 1960s.
Between 1948, the year when Cinecitta started to spread its work in an active and organic way, and 1968 – amidst student protests and the relentless growth of new television media – the striking fate of two decades, in which the Italian film industry found success internationally, was filfilled.
A fate made of films and men who have shaped with their ideas and their personalities, new perspectives on the Seventh Art.
Cinecittà thus becomes a sort of “Hollywood on the Tiber” bringing light, fame and personality to the local celluloid entertainment industry, cunningly supported by gossip and mediated by the uncontrollable phenomenon of photographers and newshound.
